RapidBus Line in Southern Antherstone
The R10 RapidBus, also known as the R10 Andrew Street RapidBus is a RapidBus Route running from Concave Loop to Ridgeway Exchange. It was commissioned to service in Southern Antherstone and operates from Southern Transit Centre.
The R10 RapidBus operates conventional 60ft articulated vehicles manufactured by Jacko Bus Industries, the counterpart of the in real world New Flyer Industries. Like other RapidBus services, the vehicles often sport the RapidBus Blob Livery, though Southern Antherstone vehicles primarily sport a updated RapidBus Blob Livery named "RapidBus Blob 2" which features a full roof-line coloring and a redesigned color scheming.
Planning for the R10 RapidBus began when the City of Antherstone reserved a portion of the 2016 City Budget for the improving Transportation Corridors and Road Networks which was part of the Keeli Municipal Government's election promise. The R10 was originally visualized as part of the B-Line system before its rebranding in 2020. Construction on priority lanes and other elements for the RapidBus line began in the summer of 2019 and completed in January of 2023.
Despite being criticized for reducing lane capacity along Forest Lawn Street, the R10 RapidBus was officially implemented and commissioned in Spring of 2023 where it operated from Concave Loop to Nature Park Exchange. On 2023 of September 4th; the R10 RapidBus was extended to serve Ridgeway Exchange, a newly built Bus Terminal as part of Antherstone's Community Transit Access Program.
